Incredibly Easy Bird's Nest Candy

This recipe is great any time of year! It is fast, easy and delicious! Madison and I whipped these up to take to a friend’s house and everyone loved them.

Ingredients:

1 bag of chocolate chips
1 bag of butterscotch chips
1 ½ bags of the thin chow mein noodles
Cadbury candy coated milk chocolate eggs

  • Melt all the chocolate chips in a double boiler over medium heat (or a regular pan over low heat, watching carefully so mixture does not burn)

  • Pour in chow mein noodles and stir until thoroughly coated.
Using two teaspoons, drop onto wax or parchment paper and make a small indentation into the center of each.

  • Add two or three small Cadbury eggs to the center of each and push gently so they adhere to the nest.

  • Allow to sit out until they set up. If you are in a hurry, you can place in the fridge for about 10 minutes.

Aren’t they cute!! Have a blessed weekend!

    Karyn

Thank you to our hostess Gollum http://www.designsbygollum.blogspot.com/ for hosting another wonderful Foodie Friday!

  4. Oh my goodness!!!! I love chocolate covered everything! :O) I've never thought of using chow mien noodles. I love your little birds nests. Anyway, thank you for visiting my blog. I love being a foster mom. My husband and I are in a special program at social services, in which we take in teenagers who have emotional/behavioral challenges. We take them out of group homes, show them how to live in a real home (show them the love of Christ, which isn't part of the program, but we add it in anyway!)After their behavior has improved, they are returned to a (non-abusive)family member and permanently freed from the system. It is the most rewarding thing I've ever done in my life. Our first one came back though and we're keeping him until he's 18. :O)It's called the MTFC Program (Multidimensional Treatment Foster Care)
I'm not sure where you can get alfalfa seeds in your area, but I find them at Mothers Health Food here in So.Cal. I can't seem to find them that easily, you would think in
California it would be easy to find them?

    God bless you! Mary :O)
